Overview of the US market (07/27/2021)

US indices hit another record high last week, closing 17% higher since the beginning of the year. However, it is likely that the overall growth will not exceed this figure, as in the second half of the year there may be a strong correction.

Last week:

Dow Jones closed 1.5% higher (500 pips) and ranged from 34.600 to 35.100 points.

S&P 500 was up 2.0% (90 pips) and valued 4.330 to 4.420 points.

Nasdaq rose 2.0% (340 pips) and fluctuated from 14.500 points to 14.840 points.

Forecasts for this week:

Dow Jones will range 34.900 - 35.300.

S&P 500 will range 4.350 - 4.450.

NASDAQ will range 14.700 - 15.000

The market will move depending on the decisions of the Federal Reserve on Wednesday. Currently, the main issue is whether the central bank will tighten monetary policy in response to high inflation in the United States. However, doing so risks a large wave of sell-offs, which could bring negative consequences for the financial sector.
