US stock market closed mixed, Dow Jones down 0.68%

The CBOE Volatility Index, which is based on S&P 500 options trading, fell 5.00% to 13.88.

Gold futures for August delivery lost 0.07%, or 1.35, to hit $1.00 a troy ounce. In other commodities, WTI July futures fell 1.08%, or 0.75, to $68.67 a barrel. Brent crude for August delivery fell 0.96%, or 0.71, to $73.58 a barrel.
